Don't be afraid of hugging your doudou

(Is there any real translation for doudou in English?
Hm, I can't believe there is not... helllp!)

Yesterday Lola was sitting on her bed, talking with one of her lil boy friend...

the lil friend: "Tell me, Lola (pointing towards the teddy bear), what is that?"

Lola (shrugging): "It's my Teddy!"

the lil friend: "you still have a teddy? you're such a baby!"

Lola: "Well, that's simple, I hug my teddy so I don't have nightmares"

the lil friend (uncomfortable): " ... I always have nightmares..."

Lola: "... Well, maybe you should hug a teddy, sometimes"

aww :)

... Lola just said everything: just be proud of who you are, what you think, and don't stick to the codes imposed by others..

(ich bin such a proud mama! :P)

Merry merry lil tsunami

the birthdays party has been a success!
I think all the kids loved it...
... Some even told me it was the best birthday party they had ever enjoyed! THAT is some kind of compliment!

We hadn't enough time for all the games actually. They loved 1,2,3,4,5 pass the parcel! And in the parcel, there was a treasure chest, with real sand inside, and a little shovel to dig in. We had prepared 2 parcels like that. We should have made 15 of them! big success!

We avoided all the games with real competition that leads the boys to fight. And that was a pretty good idea I think!

We also made magic tricks, danced, won pumpkins, etc.

It just took the day to organize it and clean it, but we'd do it again any time (next year )

Queenette day

6 years
About the time I've got to learn ... what it means to stress for a lil one, to feel like a lioness against dangers, to welcome sleepless nights when fever comes, to roar and comfort, to extend clownish talents, to never get enough of cuddles and kisses too.

Lola's 6 today and I'm the proudest, luckiest, happiest Mama!
Amen

(another tooth was taken by lil mouse yesterday night!
Just what Lola wanted to feel OLD enough! hehe)

Everyone gets his/her own tsunami

and ours is scheduled (which is kinda practical) on next Saturday.

A tiny flat (ours) + 12 wild kids to celebrate the lil devils' birthdays!
(they were both born on October)

Hmm, you see, it's the first time the lil devils will celebrate their birthday at home with friends. So it's gonna be a first time for us too!
(trembling in me boots)

The lil devils are SO happy to celebrate it this way that finally space won't be such a big problem, huh...

But..

I need your help, I really REALLY do!
You're all very creative and that's excatly what I need... your creativity!
Any idea about funny games to entertain the lil ones (3-6 years-old) ???

Puleaaaase, puleeeeeeease!

My lil pleasure today ?

...entering the Hall of mountain king, nothing less!

just, the Apocalyptica way, which rocks.

happy happy sigh

Pssshhhit... and for the inspired girls or for the fans of Timotei shampoo, huhu, here's an extra goodie... nan paske... voilà, quoi!

I've almost got the golden medal

...with this postcard (still into my kitsch postcards battle against Esox, chevalier sans peur et sans repproche -mais quand même-)

Don't you love it???

Look at the guy on the left, he seems so inspired...hehe...

Anyway, my adversary has found the same postcard, can you imagine!?!!!
Damn!

edit:
the other one of the series, that I won't send because too stylish, yet funny, but less funny :P

But I've other bomb-ish stuff in stock ;-)

Ever heard about *Zeitgeist* ?

I had heard about that movie before... but ...
... never really thought I'd watch it. I thought it would be just more propaganda to confuse ol' Candy.

Anyway, this movie, Zeitgeist, has been recommended lately by an American friend.
Quoting Wikipedia, "Zeitgeist won the top award of Best Feature Documentary/Artivist Spirit at the 4th Annual Artivist Awards in 2007 in Hollywood", which does not mean much at the end. lol

It's a documentary film about myths, how people use myths to impose their views and power.
Many fields, religion first, are explored... and it is indeed pretty interesting!

I have only watched the first part of it so far (part 1 = "The Greatest Story Ever Told", which tries to prove the similarities between Christianity and Antic Egyptian religion)
... with much reluctance, I admit a few details are very interesting, here.

If you're in the mood to discover something that will make your mind boil, it's right here

Even though I don't know if it's just another manipulation stuff, I like the other view they offer.
No way I'll turn Catholic again I fear ;-)

Gothic lambs

As I'm supa lazy and just get nothing to do but surfing, I found this Facebook page the other day about music, metal and gothic stuff.

Loved the advertisement just next to it (for non French speaking ones: Catholic stuff)
But of course religion is linked to Gothic creatures of the dark dark night! :D

Omnivor

Just because I like it a lot and also LUVE the last seconds of it ;-)

The endless week

Poor Martin, his back is blocked since last Friday!
He's got injection and heavy medicine (pain killers etc) and has been lying down for hmm 4 days.
Thank Gawd he's getting better tonight.

...Which is kewl, also because I start to be really exhausted. A friend was telling me the other day you never really realise what a man does in the house, except when he stops doing anything! (but then, our men might be exceptions, I dunno :P)

Only music is a relief at the moment, sport also in a way... preventing the machine to get too rusty and stop.

Actually I lie a bit, everything's fine, the kids are doing wunnerfully! Loup keeps calling me "ma chérie" or "ma poupée", he's training hard to be a future romeo, you see!
Lola will start "Theatre" tomorrow at school, she's very excited and so am I :) She'll follow the courses every Thursday after school. That means she'll be at school from 8.30am to 6.00pm! My poor lil buDerfly will join the exhausted gang I fear! We'll have extra naps ;-)

No, I'm doing ok, just tired :)

When the cat's away....

... the mice will play!

And this happens to be so very true:

Now how do I do to update stuff, and blog, and wordscrap', and chat, and eventually work too?!!

Grand moment de solitude #2

(aka "a little embarrassing moment #2")

Like on every other day, I joined one of my goilfriends, for the fitness session.
Going to a fitness club early on Saturday is not the funniest thing you can imagine.
But, we're on a Desperate Housewifes mode, determined to take care of ourselves as much as of the rest of the world.

The fitness club works this way: you work on a machine (muscles, etc), then you work on a stepper, then on another machine, then on a stepper.
Loud music on, etc.

When we arrived, we joined the golden agers (le club du 3eme âge, no offense!).
For once, we were like the ones who really got into the rythm, you know?! A pair of Jane Fondas, Madonnas on stage or so (very so! lol)
On the steppers, we were Dancing Queens, Claudettes qui se la pêtent.
Fast and motivated.

... physically so confident that we started to have real fun, jumping, making weird choreographies. "We are the Queens of the woooorld!"

And then ...

...poor ol' Candy just fell like that... in front of the muscled trainers (hellooooo guys) and ... in front of the golden ladies gang!

(The little embarrassing moment just happened, huh)

Got rescued from my ridiculous situation by the muscled ones (and it did not fall pleasant at all in this situation!)

Then of course, I had to offer some ultra-bright smile, laughing with the grannies around. Last bit of dignity.

I finished my session on a very humble mode you see.

The grannies suddenly felt very comfortable (ha well that was probably the best point here).

They even started to talk and laugh with me.

I think I have new friends.

Seven songs to welcome the sunny Fall

Thank you Mel', loved the lil game! (gotta check about your Helloween's mrs God by the way!)

So here's the lil game, and you're sooooo welcome to answer it on your blog or in comments here (which is the most interesting part of the game!)

Ok, here we go:

"List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to"

Hmm,
With all the online radios, it's pretty easy to listen to stuff you usually don't. I've my Jango radio stations on all day. Nice community there.

At the moment the ones I keep listening to:

Jeff Buckley: New year's Prayer ... This song simply works on me, and I really can't explain why... the magic of music (just close your eyes when you listen to it, the video is a bit, ermmm, static :P)

System of a Down's Aerials: a band I enjoy very regularly, I'm into this song at the moment.

Remmstein's Engel: I'm into this one very much at the moment (depiste a crap video, huh! hehe)

Gwen Stefani's What you waiting for: it's my girlie girl inside talking here, this song is a killing song!

Nick Cave's Mack the knife: I like the decadence of it! The circus touch

Metallica's Judas Kiss: since I keep listening to their album, if I had to chose one song today it would be this one!

Finntroll 's Fiskarens Fiende : I like this one pretty much, and gotta keep in the mood for the next concert!

I'm much into music at the moment, discovering, re-discovering, etc, so I could have made a 40 songs list I guess, but 7 is way enough! :D

Voilà, now you're very free to tell me, to tell us, about your 7 songs of the moment ... (petits plaisirs honteux inclus, comme dirait Nim'! )

A home for fleas, a hive for bees, a nest for birds

... Long, beautiful, gleaming, steaming, flaxen, waxen
(does that ring a bell?)

Hair
Hairs!

I get a problem with dem. Not mines, lol, just hair and hairs in general.

I bet some specific things only happens to you, right? Like it's always you (talking to the Parisian readers here) who walks in the dawg shit. Or it's always you who lose your car keys when you're in a rush.

Well, my problem is a yucky one. When I buy food, bread, cake, frozen pizza, whatever, really whatever... Very often I get a fookin hair in it! I think the other people do not notice enough, but I always do!

It has even become like a traditional joke during family meals that I'd find one on my plate (so very funny!).

Well, yesterday evening, we had that frozen pizza, huge one. I don't eat pizzas, pizzas get addicted to curves, bad alchemy!
But I still have a very tiny piece of it, to avoid frustration, you know.

Well in that very mini tiny microscopic piece of this industrial frozen pizza (I only thought robots would make dem!), I found a hair! Shiteroo!!! Again!

Good point is that once I find one, my appetite is gone! Magic!

I think in a previous life I was a white cat or a fat angora rabbit, and people got mad when I slept on their coats.
Now life takes its hairy revenge!

(me, in me previous life)

Lola gets fluent in Parseltongue *

Lola has just lost a second tooth, and has been showing it all around as a trophy!
Losing teeth seem to be like a very expected experience to prove they're not lil kids anymore! They can survive losing a teeth, they can survive about anything!

And I don't know if there's any link really, but since Lola has lost her first tooth, she's started to physically fight with boys! And you should see her, a lil lioness! hehe! And she loves that!
My buDerfly, my babygirl... fighting!
(faint)

* Parseltongue is the language of the SSsssnakes, details here

Dead can dance too

Yeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I've just finished my painting. Back to the "shadows" theme :)
Been working all day, I'm just glad it's done!
(happy sigh)

for details about it, it's right there

Halloween brainstorming session

I love the "brainshhhtorm" concept ... sounds like ermm, stormy enough! :P

Our Halloween Party will happen in more than 3 weeks... it's about time to get serious about it!

So we had a family *moment* around the table.

Lola, the most creative:
"Ok, I have made a list of what we could do: we could dress as a giant shrimp, a tree, a flower with a heart, or a witch ("sorcière crochue", in French, because of the pimple on the nose)

Loup, the most stubborn:
giraffe! Mama Giraffe, Papa Giraffe, Loup giraffe and Lola giraffe

Martin, the most "old school":
ghosts and witches

and I got concepts, pretty good ones (lol sorry, my ego's doing well as you can see) on the paper, but, (cough), just impossible to realise in such little time:
Loup Tsunami and Lola nuclear bomb, mama pollution and papa disease

The difficult part is that it's a party with kids, so you can't just get too scary (we would have zillions of ideas otherwise!)

but we found! Yup yup!
(Not telling you, of course!)

(and no, the pic above has nothing to do with what we found :P)

My lil champions ;-)

Yesterday, the kids had great fun.
The FFSA, an association to help handicapped people who want to do sports, organised some kind of event to allow people to try sports together with handicapped people. The slogan was "come with your differences, leave with your resemblance"

It was fantastic!

The handicap was not there, at least not in the eyes of the kids.
Which is far from being the case from the media, if you consider the cover of the Olympics games of the handicapped ones.
sigh...

Anyway, we had a great time! :-)

Gothic Paris by bike

2 words about the concert yesterday ?
No choice anyway ! :P

3 bands were expected.
I went there thinking we'd get a bad Anathema, a mediocre My Dying Bride, and maybe a surprising Paradise Lost.

Anathema was just worse, terrible, why were they part of the "unholy Trinity Tour" ? That sounded almost like a joke.
But we enjoyed the bar for a while, and that was perfect.

My Dying Bride? They were really into their Gothic attitude. Theatrical! Brilliant! With them you get what you expect, and besides the funny part, that was kewl. The singer was tortured, he was perfect. 2 girls among the musicians, Gothically glamorous. I liked that too!
And they played old stuff, loved it!

Paradise Lost? I did not know them so much, hoped I would get into the Shhpirit of it. But ne, the magic did not work with me. I love the Erased song, but they didn't play it :(
I was really surprised that every instrument but the guitars was recorded, no real player ?? Or playing backstage maybe? :P
The nice moment was the recorded (!) intro: Dead Can Dance!
The audience was happy, inspired. So that was a fine moment too! They were really friendly (about the opposite of My Dying B), seemed to enjoy their time.

But ... the cherry of the cake came after the concert...

When for the very first time I crossed Paris-by-night with a bike! ...and guess who had much fun? hehe ---->

And it was ohhhh beauDiful!

PS: it went purrfectly with the kids and our supa baby-sitter!
When we arrived, the kids were snoring and everything was so clean, he even washed the dishes! Amen

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

A very new "first time" (trembling in my boots...not!)

Tomorrow, for the very first time we get a baby-sitter to keep an eye over the devils, while we'll be partying.

Lola is almost 6 years-old and we've never taken any baby-sitter! Can you believe that? Somehow we always managed to have some relative to help.

The baby-sitter is a Bobby Poppins, a HE! Pretty kewl, huh?!!
Actually he works in the kindergarten where Loup went last year. So we already know each other pretty well :-)

Which is fine because we'll be very busy enjoying the "Unholy Trinity tour", featuring 3 bands, Paradise Lost, Anathema and my Dying Bride.

The 3 of them are said to be originally into dooooooom metal (brrrrr). But they've changed and I don't know what to expect really.
Martin says we can't miss such a concert! So fine, there we go!

I like some of the 2 first bands, I like a lot old stuff from the third band (like the song below... no official clip, but at least you get an idea! hehe... nooooo don't run away like that!)
