Quart d'heure américain

Just the name of that lil game (lady's choice at a dancing party) sounds soooo dusty! We still played it when I was a teen. For 15 minutes (a couple of slow songs), you were invited to chose your partner for a dance and he could not really refuse. lol So practical!

I actually wonder about the origin  of the French name "quart d'heure Américain", my only guess would be something linked to WWII, linked to American soldiers, end of the war parties stuff?
Any idea?

Slows. There are of course hundreds of wonderful slower songs. But I refer to the ones that would push you in the arms of your man / girl.

Dancing on slow romantic songs.. That's pretty intimate, which is good when you want to get intimate!

The thing is that most of the time I did not dance with the guy I wanted! lol ... minutes then were long, endless!
Then, the songs themselves... I've never fell for "Still loving you", "say you, say me" kind of stuff! lol

And then, there are those that have all the spices in them, the exact recipe to make you react. For me it's always been the Animals House of the rising sun or (yeah, appreciate my originality here, thank you!) the Eagles's Hotel California. lol

Hoist the Colours!

getting into the mood for the coming belated Halloween party !



Voilà, another fantastic Party at Michelle and Frédéric's yesterday!
Perfect cheesecakes, divine cupcakes & such a warm atmosphere! (& We had a professionnal DJ! yeah yeah!)
We had real good time. Dancing, singing, eating, drinking, games for the kids.
At the end of the party, the kids discovered for the very first time Michael Jackson's vid of Thriller. Lola's fascinated with the dancing part, Loup with the werewolf transformation! hehe
:))

We went there dressed as pirates (had no time to look for real Halloween stuff)... not super original but at least we came as pirates with a French touch: "Pirates on strike"

Reputation (not fake)

When I go for lunch at JB's, just downstairs, JB serves me 2 beers, directly (=without me asking for anything)! LOL
I swear I can never get used to that ... I mean it! :P


Of course I refuse he does that all the time!
but it's his way to make me feel welcome.

And at some point, you gotta accept with a big smile when you're offered such a pleasant surprise!

Heavy rumour

Therion (with lots of new members) should be performing in Paris on next November!

Yesterday

the Happy Hour started at 4.00, I was not really thirsty, so just started with Caipirinhas. I had never tried it before I think! These lil treats are supa yummy!!! Anyway, the festival started at 5.00, finished at 11.00. I've missed the first band (because of the lil yummy treat) but the other bands were very good.

Specially Eluveitie who was simply perfect! The girls were in a great mood, laughing all the time as playing, it was just very nice to enjoy and share the band's supa good vibes.

The sound was so good for once, that I just had to record some of it.
Here's a very good Inis Mona, a song that mankes me wanna roar, dunno why. :)

Trolls in skirt, Metal rules

Here they come! From Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Russia & Norway.

I only know pretty well Finntroll and Eluveitie but the best way to discover a band is when they play live, so I'm pretty curious about the other ones!
Will start at 5.00pm, finish at 11.00pm. Sounds perfect to me. Gonna get my metal fix :) Prost!
