I have a dream, that one day on the red grey hills of Paris I'll be showing you what you've never seen ;-)

I've dreamt I was getting a most exciting job (lol and I mean it): showing Paris to innocent eyes... Being a tour guide! haha!

I wanna do that, really really. I love so much my city and enjoy so much the company of * visitors * that I think I am made for this job (and a few hundred other ones actually). I'll be talking all the time, showing off my knowledge, making bad jokes, teasing the curiosity of people around. Yes that fits!

Simply someone making of freedom much more than a priority, making of it a goal, a graal, a way to look at life ... and I want as much as I can to help my devils to be free beings. Thinking their own way, making their own choices, defending their dreams.

Beaujolais day ?

As a student, I have pretty good memories of that great marketing event... Happening religiously on the third Thursday of November; it's almost winter, it's always cold, rainy, and celebrating wine sounds like a cool idea.

I wonder if that Beaujolais nouveau  is even known abroad or not.

I don't know why I bought a bottle earlier, I won't even drink it today... I'm just a good target when it comes to wine! Unfortunately the Beaujolais nouveau isn't the best wine, honestly. Well, with luck, it's * drinkable * if you drink it during the event, that is!
Then you're in the mood to celebrate, it's quite cheap, so there you go... you forget you drink crap! lol

Well, I remember I have tried some not so bad in the past, but really... never heard anyone telling his favourite wine was Beaujolais nouveau and there is obviously a reason to that.

edit: I'll try it tonight, won't resist the fun of it (memo to self: one day gotta test my level of "resistance" when it comes to fun, I'll be seriously scared!!!). 
This year they say it does not have a touch of banana but rather of wild strawberries! Yummmm? Yummm!

Reputation (not fake)

When I go for lunch at JB's, just downstairs, JB serves me 2 beers, directly (=without me asking for anything)! LOL
I swear I can never get used to that ... I mean it! :P


Of course I refuse he does that all the time!
but it's his way to make me feel welcome.

And at some point, you gotta accept with a big smile when you're offered such a pleasant surprise!

Charlotte à la fraise (tagada)

I like this most charming Frenchie, her soft voice (just like a whisper, really!) taking me where I want when I need softer sounds. Like right now, as working on some let's say sensuous painting, it fits. I need much concentration, metal is less appropriate :P

Charlotte or Air have the same effect on me. Do you have also your soft musical oasis?

A Tuesday on the grill, à la française.

While the government spend like 7 of our millions just for poor communication, to convince 67 years-old is a right age for retirement, civil servants are back in the streets to express their disagreement.

What will come out of all that? nothing.
Retirement? Come on, right now there is so much important than that..
And I'm sorry but again common sense (like a surgeon can't work properly for 50 years!) should prevail and we should stop making one law for all. We should adapt to professions

" One for all and all for one! " really .. that only works for the three musketeers ;-)

The education system is deteriorating year after year, right. But what can I expect from the government? That it defends my own interests? those of our kids? Nope.

I don't ask my mom, who knows me very well, to decide for me... I can't ask a bunch of guys will all the powers to decide what the best for me! Nonsense.
Give me my money back... the government, whatever the political preference, from right wing, left wing will not use the money we give it with common sense (offering the best conditions to kids and teachers to share knowledge) for the sake of our kids.

The strike? ........ What's the point? Block those who have the power, who make the decisions you refuse, not us. That simply sucks.

We throw young teachers in the system like sheep in the Lion's arena. We ask teachers to make the job of the parents. And finally of course the kids and Knowledge suffer from all what the government creates.

What sucks even more is that I can't think of any way to improve the system. Education should be given more money, more means, more autonomy, much more flexibility ?

Last week, I really had a fine time with a few ol' bloggers friends! (waving @Dr Caso, Moukmouk, Mel', and Lune)
I've met some I had never met before, but the meeting confirmed what I knew from them since years! :)

We've been to our *cantine* which was really perfect... So good! And always so friendly there :)

First I gotta thank Nathan for having much more open eyes than I when it comes to the internet (but politics and life in general too! I reckon! :P)... Without Nathan's message, I would have never found that Keith had written a whole post about my blog on his own blog, a Taste of Garlic

Keith has a talent to make other's blogs look fantastic. You read the way he talks of them, you instantly want to discover more about the blogs. How does he succeed in that? Because he really gets interested in what he reads, I think, that's the only way Keith can talk so well of all these blogs!

Le hamburger de Lola

I had promised a really good restaurant to my shrimpette months ago. This week, we were alone for lunch, so I took her out.
I wanted something that will be part of her childhood's souvenirs, something she won't forget. She was very impressed with everything:
"Mom, why do the guys keep coming and peeking at us?"
"Mom can I used the table napkin? It's so white so far"
"Mom can you read the menu again and explain me why they put cabbage in the profiteroles?"
(in French we say "pâte à choux" for "puff pastry", and we use the word "choux" for "cabbage")

"Mom, can I have a hamburger??"

Of course she got it!
They happily served Lola what she wanted, and at the end of the meal she couldn't stop complimenting the chef, telling it was so much better than when she goes to Mac Do' ! I believed her because usually she never finished anything... but this time there was nothing left in her plate! :)

Lola has also been adventurous, she accepted to try the raw mussels I had ordered.

Osyters too, she IS adventurous!

Her lil bro is much more conservative with food, if he does not recongnize what's in his plate, he'll ask for something else! (*shaking head*)

We had a real good time. It was too short though, we had to get back to school quickly. But sometimes we'll do that again, when I sell a painting or two! lol



oh, and here's a wink for the French gang (nobody from abroad can't possibly know "him") ... Can you see the lil "intruder" on the photo, hm? (lol well, ok, you won't have to look for long it's quite obvious!)

frogs, google and French stereotypes

Being curious, I've typed the other day "french woman" then "french man" in google. And that's what I've got in first place :



lol, well... now I think of it I don't know any French man among my friends having a moustache (only Germans can do that :P), or a beret.
As for women, our French women reputation is safe with such pretty one I reckon :-)

The other day I was talking about my "candy froggie" handle referring to the frog legs eaters that we are (well, I doubt any of us even eat frog legs once a year!)
Stereotypes are funny, sometimes surprising, but you always learn from them. Do you know or are you aware of the stereotypes of your own country? Do they make you uncomfortable or angry?

Besides what's listed on the link above, we French are also often said to be arrogant, are we? I think I'm always right, but not because I'm French, just because **shrugging**, I'm right!

If I remember French people are said to stink because (of the English spreading terrible ideas! lol), because centuries ago, people, aristocrats did not bath for fear of, I don't remember. Centuries ago. lol
I swear we're supa clean and smell wonderfully, well, I do at least lol

French women have the reputation to not shave and at the same time to be sophisticated?? I have no idea lol. I do shave and don't know if I'm sophisticated.

Do you think of other stereotypes about the French?

Hey teachers... Don't leave them kids alone :)

I believe that of course we do need education, we need to have access to knowledge, any form of it. And to avoid a poor, controlled education, we need to support our teachers, their independence, their fights, to help them working in the best conditions so that our kids gets the best tools to build their own personalities, to become simply adults.
What will be the future of a country if Education is so underestimated by the *Power* ?

That's why I totally support the fight of Loup's teacher who's on strike today (I don't support the strike strategy, but I support the fight they're leading).
You can't ask one person to teach properly in overcrowded classrooms. You can't ask a teacher to make the parents' job, you can't ask the teacher to work for 3 persons.

Hey, government, use our money the way we want it to be used, you've been elected to represent us, the people.

Otherwise, well, if you keep using our money the wrong ways... I'd be forced to admit it's open robbery :)

PS: I don't say that I know more than any one how to use the taxes, I just observe it's almost never used the way we expected. Or the way we truly need it

Fighting for your ideals with your polling card (carte d'électeur) is a joke to me. Today, no one, no political party, no politician will defend what I believe in. I'm not going to sell my soul for any of them.

The protest vote or white vote would be taken into account (like in Sweden I think?), I am sure there would be very little abstention and a revolutionary taste in the ballot box (urnes)

Soon the power will be elected by a minority of voters (or is it already the case?). The protest ones are silenced.
Et vive la démocratie, vive la France...

Again this is a personal opinion, my freedom, and I respect anyone's choice.
If someone, an active voter, a champion of democracy, or anyone, wants to lecture me, perfect, I'll listen/read, and (more or less -lol-) happily answer :)

I wish they could all start asking themselves the right questions instead.

I stop supporting people that I don't trust at all. How could have I done it so far?
Voting for the "best of the worst ones" -if that means anything-???
Caring for my future?

I actually do care for the future of my babes, that's why I don't vote today. Sounds weird to you? **shrugging**
