The eye of the tiger

We went back to the hospital yesterday to talk with the guy there about Lola's improvements.
She has got only two real epileptic crisis since the beginning of her treatment (a month ago), several times she felt her body starting to shake but she could control it : )

It's quite good, the treatment is working, even if it had to be a bit intensified. She does not suffer from any of the side effects.

So she'll go on with the treatment, except that instead of having it for 6 months, she'll have for a year.

Pretty good to me that it works so well. My shrimpette is a real fighter, not that I had any doubt about it : )

Such a courageaous shrimpette : ))

Lola and I finally spent our day at Necker hospital on Friday.
I expected a short appointment, but they decided to make the necessary tests in the same day to confirm what they instantly said, from the symptoms and the videos of Lola's crisis.

We came back in the afternoon so that she could get another electroencephalogram. She had to fall asleep so that it could work properly.

It was very hot in the hospital, she was comfortably installed in a room with soft music, etc. After 15 minutes she was sleeping. The lil electrical connections in the brain started to talk a language I don't know.

The professor, the head of the neurologist department, was a tall man, taller than Martin I think. About 70 years-old, with a white beard and a mixture of super clever and sweet touch in the eyes and expression.

Lola was very impressed, in a good way.

He talked to Lola all the time, told her to come and watch the videos of her own crisis (I had never shown them to her, it's way too scary, already for me)... and was truly scared of her own image... but then he told her it was normal, because she suffered from a (small) form of epilepsy, and that is exactly what happens to people suffering from it.

She has started a treatment.

She was very happy to get a treatment. To get words. To have an adult talking to her about what she had.

I was sad and happy. Exhausted from the day, the stress.
We left hospital, I took Loup from a friend and one hour later, we were on the road to Brittany, to breathe for two days.

Lola slept wonderfully on that Friday night : )

Chocolate, Mojitos, Sex (just like everybody, huh) and ... Sport!

Holidays or not, my addiction for exercise does not fade away. Talk about addiction huh.
I might get a super short night, 5 hours, I might feel exhausted, crawling to reach my breakfast.. I'll still get my fix.

As usual thought, i gotta find time for it. Always complicate. Can't sacrifice my work and gotta be available for the devils.

In Paris, I do exercise really late in the day. Here in Bretonie, I do it super early. Sometimes at 8.00am I'm already running along the river.

One day I'll be running, the other day I'll do musculation. On the third day, I have a break though. That's about my rhythm. I really need it, that time for myself. Physical.

Pleasure is reached when pain is overcome. So good.

Breathing a bit !!! (I hope patience will pay)

Because it's been 6 months I've been waiting to meet someone who could really help me with Lola and her symptoms of  "night's epilepsy".
Lola's started to get these crises back in December with no possible reason. We thought of sleep troubles, intense nightmares... it happened more regularly then. And it was more and more shocking, like epilepsy can be. She's got tests, she saw doctors, neurologists, with no real diagnostics.

As a mom, that is so frustrating to be unable to help your kid. Lola asked why nobody helped her. She was mad and sad. And so was I.
Broken heart.

Then finally two days ago I got that call from the French Children's hospital, Necker hospital.
15 minutes from where I live in Paris : )))
Lola and I have an appointment there in 10 days! Oh god, I am so so happy!!!
Yes, I am so happy yes, you can't imagine, Lola will meet one of the best French neurologist specialised in kids.
It's a first relief. Really.

Run like hell

When I'm in Bretonie, there's one thing I love to do there, that I hate doing in Paris. It's running.

When I run there, alone, with animals around, birds and rabbits... I do enjoy every second of it.

When I run, I don't know if it's to escape something, or to reach something. I like both concepts together. What I know is that I do not run calmly, lol... like slow motion to watch the surroundings, I need to push limits here.

My favourite part though is that break I make when my body just begs for it, just before getting on the way back. A few minutes for myself. Luxury.

The conspiracy theory

My subconscious and my body joined together and organised an evil conspiracy against me!
In the worst way, they tried (and so far succeeded) to force me to some kind of ugly laziness!!!

I was getting back to work (on my painting) on Thursday, when I washed a glass which was broken. I washed it quickly with much energy and strength in the movement. Perfect for a good clean scalp. 5 seconds later a nice bit (top middle part of my index) was lying on the sink. I know I try to make it sound horrible, but it was! lol ... I could see my tendon!!!!

It bled and bled and I took a a clean rag to press it around the finger. The devils asked me if I was going to die (told you it was tragic!)

I took the car with my bloody rag at the end of my finger and drove to join family, let the kids and found medical help. Nothing could be done, the flesh and skin were in my sink. Good, no needles involved. Oh just a needle for a vaccine later.

Anyway there's a nice hole on top of my finger and it hurts whenever I try to use my hand with pressure. I don't want to wear any bandage as recommended for 3 weeks, because when I changed it yesterday, it was stuck to the flesh and it felt really bad to take it off (me poor lil thing lol)

I could show you the wound, but hey I've not crossed that limit (*reality blog*) yet. :P

Been two days now I can't do anything because of that bloody finger! I can't do just "nothing"! No, life's short so that wound should better heal very quickly, I am like a lion(ess) in cage!

grmmmphhhh!!!

Look into my eyes

...and tell me, you do have a toothache!

You don't, are you sure?

Well, yesterday I had some deep pain, with headache, pain in the ear and throat. I'm already visiting my dentist for another tooth problem, then this new one appeared. Fuck.

Tell me, you do feel pain somewhere in the mouth!

I can't believe my parents made me with such bad teeth (yeah that sounds SO sexy! hehe)... Or is it God punishing me? It must be.
Oh but wait, my lil teeth are very cute and pretty, it's just that some of them have no resistance to sugar. Just the way I am... with sugar too! lol

My new pain was not fake. My dentist wondered how I could even sleep with that pain.
Sigh. I don't know either!

(come on, there's a lil tooth that bothers you right now I'm sure!)

What hurts me the most... the biggest injury I mean, here, is money. I know people do know complain about that openly, but fuck, I do if I want :P
Spending money for that when I'd need to spoil my babes, a new computer, eventually paying gaz and electricity. Yeah, that sucks.

Pffff.

Gotta add that usually I don't mind painkillers shots, but yesterday it was SO painful. Merde! Really felt tears coming. I hate that.

The amazing thing is that after sharing my pain with my sister, she started feeling real toothache! (and still does)

In the next hour my niece broke a teeth :(

Well, if God was not a perv, if he did not have a twisted mind when he created us, he would have done something for the teeth!

(Amen?
-> Achoo!)

PS: the English fairy tooth is our french lil mouse who comes to take the fallen teeth put under the cushions :)
