13cm of happiness

oh nonono I'm not talking of what you think!
Got the visit of a Santa Claus not long ago, a santa who knew what would bring me lil happiness.

It worked : ))

(and don't tell me my photo montage is supa kitsch :P)

10cm or nothing!

noooo, nooooo, relax ya guys, I'm only talking of heels here (well 10cm wasn't really demanding either!)

Back to you girls :)

I found my winter boots! super high (it does not show really on the pics!), super comfortable (of course I've tried them already)... The idea of them already takes me high. Which will actually happen! :P

I dress in black or brown, so I gotta get them both. Ouch, don't really get the money for them at all at the moment, specially for two pairs!

They're quite expensive. (sigh)

I'm gonna get them sooner or later. They're feminine but not too sophisticated, which I love. They're made for me, I just know it!

And then I've decided I'll be 1m70 for the whole winter, I'm gonna reach the clouds, it's gonna be all fun! : )

My devils will be (alright!)

I was offered a ticket the other day to enjoy The Offspring's concert here in Paris. I declined... I had to train at sport! baaaa that's crazy, it's one of my fav band, kick ass band!
I've seen them once, and that wasn't enough.

Chocolate, Mojitos, Sex (just like everybody, huh) and ... Sport!

Holidays or not, my addiction for exercise does not fade away. Talk about addiction huh.
I might get a super short night, 5 hours, I might feel exhausted, crawling to reach my breakfast.. I'll still get my fix.

As usual thought, i gotta find time for it. Always complicate. Can't sacrifice my work and gotta be available for the devils.

In Paris, I do exercise really late in the day. Here in Bretonie, I do it super early. Sometimes at 8.00am I'm already running along the river.

One day I'll be running, the other day I'll do musculation. On the third day, I have a break though. That's about my rhythm. I really need it, that time for myself. Physical.

Pleasure is reached when pain is overcome. So good.

Dr Candy & Mrs Candles ?

I'm gonna do that. I've been thinking about it since 2 days, since I talked with him and seing my frustration, he adviced me to create my hidden gallery.

What sells the most are on one side my collages (which is very reassuring, I can express myself so much through them), and my cute and adorable paintings. Innocent, a bit funny and just pretty paintings :) I like them, I paint them feeling light and detached. Like a bee around a flower.

But it's very frustrating. For real I don't feel this way all the time, not at all, of course. I need to express more, stuff I might not want to show or sell. Maybe ugly, plain, dark, pornographic or erotic. Maybe Beauty, but not in the cute way.

I will paint sorrow and pleasure with no limits, free from the others' eyes.
I have no idea. I just know I'm taking all my painting stuff to Bretonie to explore that field.

That hidden gallery, these paintings I might not show to anyone, they will bring the balance I need for the rest of my work.
Does that mean any sense to you?
It's very exciting. I have no idea where I'm going with that. A foot on a new planet.

The Gardener's rituals

... is the title of my next paintings series.

Nothing's done yet, but the idea is there.

The title almost guides my pencil and brush.

And it often works this way. I get ideas, sources of inspiration, and suddenly a title come to my mind that will guide my work, give a meaning to it.

There's a lot of construction in the process, but the title is like  the original seed. I find that strange when I think of it. Maybe the visual comes after the meaning, to me. Dunno.

The painting will fit the title and not the opposite way to me.

How does it work for other painters, for musicians, for photographers? I wonder.

Differently for sure.

Secret agent X

Loup has a new passion, a new goal in life. Being a secret agent.
He has never heard of James Bond though.
.
I think he has never seen what a secret agent was really... But the title is quite exciting for him I think.

Before he wanted to be a knight. But that involved war, or so he realized. Hm. Being a knight sounded ok but being part of a bloody war, nope.

He decided then to be a secret agent and calls it his new passion :))

Earlier, we went out to find a hat (too much sun lately). And he exulted, found THE hat he wanted and THE tie he thought perfect for a secret agent. I did not resist of course.

Some things that you find

are beyond your control

Like... there's thunder, it's raining, I'm just back in Paris. It's hot. My imagination wanders through the rain drops. Beyond my control.

I love you and you're beautiful.

And I love that song : )

I am not Robert Mitchum

I'm not Reverend Harry Powell (Robert Mitchum), a serial killer and self-appointed preacher, getting a (not so) black and white personality...

I am not that extreme at all. I mean I am not a serial killer, lol.

Yet I have my own marks too. I had no idea where my tats would take me. What would my body tell.
It's fascinating! I'm truly following what my body asks for.

Today, one of my arms is telling about freedom, the other about love. Yeah I know that sounds very 1970s huh :)

but My love arm gets a snake, which means a lot more than just love. My freedom arm gets skulls, death is present.

See, I do not live in a world made of rainbows (though i love them!).

Sunny made them so much the way I wanted!
She added perfect details, perfect shapes. Such a talent!!! Cherry on the cake, I'm having a real good feed back about them : )

I don't think I'll stop with tattoos...
Once you kill the cow, you gotta get the burger huh

(now... don't tell me you HATE them! :P)

Cannes, back to 1990

Do you remember the time when Nic Cage was not totally ridiculous on the screen?
I was a total fan.
Do you remember this one? Wild at heart?
This was so passionate. Just how Life should be!

Me Candy, you Jane

Jane...
Isn't it a super feminine name?!

Which Jane come to your mind? Tarzan's? Eyre? Fonda (haaa pretty Barbarella!) ?

Jane Campion was so far the only woman winning the top prize at Cannes Festival a few years ago with the Piano. I found that quite surprising. Not chocking, just surprising.

When I think of that (powerful) movie... I believe it had to be made by a woman. There was a particular approach. Feminine I think.

I love her sensitivity.

And I like when she talks of the "romantic impulse", that I would translate as "passion"..

"I think that the romantic impulse is in all of us and that sometimes we live it for a short time, but it's not part of a sensible way of living. It's a heroic path and it generally ends dangerously. I treasure it in the sense that I believe it's a path of great courage. "

Amen :)

Paris by day

Why do I love Paris? Just * that * is enough to sum it up. Paris by day on a sunny day is truly fantastic! Just stop and sit down on a terrasse, or walk along the Seine, just enjoy the polluted Beaudy and you can reach heaven :)
Paris by night is as much tempting, as much wonderful. More maybe. Secret corners everywhere. Totally magic.

Just before leaving for Hamburg on Sunday, I had lots of sport, enough to break me at least... but with a lunch on a sunny terrasse in between, that felt like heaven!

And the Award goes to .... (spoilers included)

The Social Network

because... even if not truly exciting, it's quite entertaining to learn about the fucking gifted and clever bastards  that created Facebook or Napster. And being the users of all their inventions, we feel part of the machine, funny. Scary.
7/10

The King's speech

The King's Speech - #1 Trailer par hawkbcn
Well I'm not sure it sums up the movie really. It was my favourite among this list. Why, I think Colin Firth's acting made everything, and all the supporting actors. I truly loved it.
10/10

Black Swan

Because you get caught by the atmosphere, the sharp stress. I wasn't attracted at all by the movie. I knew I'd see a wonderful actress acting, but then... The ballet background... of course you expect competition to get really bad... but I must say it was quite surprised and pretty good.
7/10

127 Hours

Because of one scene, crazy wonderful, where the main character films himself as in a talk show. It was waw WAW so good! Just for that fantastic scene, I'd watch it again!
I thought the whole movie was predictable. I wasn't wrong. But the acting, the filming + this special scene makes it good enough.
6/10

True Grit

For that scene where the young girl crosses the river on her big horse to finally get spanked on the other side for being a disobeying girl! Haha yeah, what a scene! : )))
But the 45 first minutes of the movie were way too long, the ending really bad.
5/10

Ok, it was a very subjective movie review, I reckon :P

All these movies have one thing in common: incredible actors, I mean all of them! I was really positively shocked by that!

Ok, the thing is... I just can't get enough of rum, sex and rock 'n roll ... movies lately!
Anything you recommend?

Addiction!

nope, just a necessity, I breathe, I laugh, paint, drink, make love and eat. And I wear boots. huhu

During the winter sales, I bought actually nothing, till the very last day... Spring boots! Just a 8 cm heel, supa comfortable. I just need Spring to start very quickly.

Now the HOT pics !

The boots rock, I LOVE them!

French kiss

On the 31st of December, I was working. Sipping champagne of course!
But working, on this painting.

I was so important and symbolic to me, I wanted to finish the year with a painting and started 2011 with a new one. Done. I'm so happy! (dancing around, throwing petals and drinking champ' again!)

I wanted to start the year with something very much into Fantasy art. A woman, not really a mermaid, more like a fish woman... ready to bite (swallow? huhu) a frog... instead of kissing it to get the expected prince charming. That's the whole idea of it. (Don't be fooled girls, it never works this way with princes charming!)

It was my first painting with Conan and Satan around. Hm working conditions might be warmer than usual but not just the easiest! :P

Some kind of pride

That's really what I feel when I open that new book of paintings and collages that I've just published. A very helpful, and beautiful, tool to "carry" all my work with me and show it around (much better than on a screen). Can you see that devilish pride on thet face below (lol). Not a fake pride either :P

And when I see all what I've done, and all what every colour, every curve or character mean to me, it makes me wanna work so much harder... give birth to many new creatures, to love them even more with my brushes, to build their fate, their happiness or tragedy. Life.

What a power! .... an artist's illusion or reality?
Probably both.

Other and different books will follow. My New year's resolution! (I had none so far!)

Total abandon

I'm working since a few days on a series about abandon, the desire to let yourself follow your own inspiration, desires, sensations.

I'm working on the third one of the series, another one will follow, that's sure. I want to explore abandon every way I can feel it. And I've got so positive feedback about it that of course it's motivating. Yet, the higher motivation, it's the pleasure taken, the feeling I gotta expressthis abandon . The harmony between my hands, heart & mind. Yo do not reach that point everyday, well, I don't .... so, yeah, it feels pretty good :)

Waving goodbye to lovely Bretonie

First day back in Paris... first concert (!), first friends ("Woaaaaaaa! it's been a months I've been waiting for you", so France shouted as taking me into her arms! hehe that was sweet)... first happy times with school friends for the devils, first bonjour every 3 seconds as walking outside. Paris is truly a great city to me, warm and friendly.
But cold, shit, I need sun and heat already...

I woke up 2,3 times last night, not knowing where I was anymore. Expecting strange birds to sing, old Bretonish ghosts to move around. But I'm adjusting already.

Summertime in Bretonie was really some kind of experience. And I don't talk of the sunbaths only. A total independence. Far from the family (...), far from everything. I've discovered great neighbours, some making the best drinks, the others already keeping the devils at night sometimes, and another one always bringing food for 10 when invited! lol
Then I got the visit from dear friends there, their presence changed everything. I've spent some times of true happiness.

Comfort was limited, as I had no kitchen, nothing to make the laundry, nothing to warm up the house but the fireplace. But it was fine, perfect.

Bonheur absolu

A moment of total happiness (bonheur absolu) ... when I steal 15 minutes in a super busy day to enjoy the sun, a coffee, and a wonderful book.

Of course such moments never last. The books are never long enough, the sun hides often and I'm running out already.

But I will feel the benefit of these 15 minutes for the rest of my stressing day... Cheers! :)
